About the Job:

The EHS Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. This role ensures compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization, and works proactively to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and environmental incidents. The EHS Manager provides guidance and support to all levels of the organization, oversees risk management and compliance activities, and drives initiatives that enhance employee safety, environmental stewardship, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Lead the plant's safety culture initiatives through employee engagement, training, communication, and continuous improvement activities.

  • Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety audits to identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental events to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

  • Manage workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and injury prevention initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Develop, deliver, and coordinate EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.

  • Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics and prepare reports for plant and corporate leadership.

  • Lead environmental compliance activities, including waste management, air emissions, wastewater, chemical management, and sustainability initiatives.

  • Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to integrate EHS requirements into daily operations and projects.

  • Manage EHS budgets, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Authorized to stop, suspend, or shut down any operation, process, equipment, or work activity that presents an imminent danger to employees, contractors, visitors, company property, or the environment until the hazard has been corrected and safe operations can be resumed.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of a 2-year college degree or 5 years’ experience in the field of EHS preferred.
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) Certification preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations.
  • Strong understanding of hazard recognition, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
